hanging out with tai po

Makayla (16 months) loves playing with tai po. They spend Mondays and Thursdays together and come up with all sorts of silly games.

eight front teeth + 4 molars + 1 tasty chicken wing = mak at dinner!

happy mother's day!

Our second Mother's Day was quite eventful. Now that Makayla is a little older and can actually enjoy different experiences, it's so much fun to take her to different places and introduce her to new things.

Friday, we had dinner at Seoul Hot Pot, a Korean restaurant close to our home. Makayla behaved and ate the entire time while we ate without getting fussy or wanting to finish early. Yeah, she's always been a good eater but lately, we noticed that sometimes (especially when we're dining out), she tends to eat less and wants to get out of her booster chair sooner. We later found out that her strange behavior might have been due to the emerging (1/3 way out) molars that are growing on both sides!!!

Anyway, back to M's day recap...on Saturday, we checked out the new Uwajimaya in Bellevue and had a quick lunch there. Mak was fascinated by all the Japanese bobble heads and started dancing (swaying side to side) with them. It was so funny! Only regret...didn't get it on video! argh!

The weather was beautiful so we went to the Bellevue Botanical Garden and enjoyed a nice 'hike' around the garden. Makayla loved walking on her own (will post video shortly). The day ended with a great dinner at Aloha Ramen and ice cream at Molly Moon's. Mak seemed to be more interested in the waffle cone than the homemade ice cream!

On Sunday, after service, we had a great lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Cheeky Cafe and took a short walk around the neighborhood (cuz Mak did NOT want to go back to the car).

Then we went to a park close to our home and played in the playground for a little bit (will post video soon). Mak loved playing on the swing. The weekend celebration concluded with a good ol' home cooked meal by all the men from the Wong and Chung families. It was delicious...thanks guys!
